Our voluntary One-Day Independent Study (IS) program allows students to stay on track with learning when they need to be absent for a short period (such as illness, appointments, family emergencies, or personal reasons). Students complete their assignment at home and receive attendance credit once the work is submitted. This option differs from requests beyond 1 day, as there is no advance notice required and it is requested directly through the school site\’s office assistant.
How It Works
Request Independent Study or agree to participate if asked by your school on the day of the absence.
